Setups While You Wait
Whether you just got a shiny new guitar or you’ve been playing a beloved vintage instrument for years, a proper setup is essential for optimizing playability, sound quality, and overall performance.
I offer setups while you wait, and each one begins with a thorough inspection and a repair estimate if any issues are discovered. Once the old strings are removed, I’ll clean and condition the fretboard, then clean and polish the body, neck, and all hardware.
A standard setup involves adjusting the truss rod for proper neck relief, setting the action height at the bridge and nut, adjusting the pickup height for optimal output, and finally adjusting the intonation to ensure accurate tuning across the entire fretboard. Of course, the process varies a bit for acoustics, 12-strings, and Floyd Rose equipped guitars, among others. You can get a full estimate before scheduling your appointment.
To ensure you leave happy with the work I’ve done, I’ll ask you to play your guitar or bass so I can make any necessary adjustments to optimize the instrument for your style and touch.

Unleash New Sounds
I offer a variety of mods to enhance your instruments sound and playability. For instance, replacing stock pickups with higher-quality or different types can achieve a desired tone. Similarly, replacing stock pots and capacitors can enhance clarity, dynamics, and reduce noise. Other electronic components like coil taps, phase switches, or push-pull pots can also be used to customize the tone and functionality.
Replacing your stock tremolo with a higher-quality or different type can improve tone, sustain, and tuning stability. The same goes for replacing a plastic nut with TUSQ or bone, and upgrading the bridge and saddles.
I can also help with cosmetic mods like custom pickguards, knobs, and switch tips, or installing strap locks to prevent accidental drops.
